The 2014 WellStar Foundation Grand Gala was held on Saturday, April 26 at the Cobb Galleria. This year’s 1920s-themed gala raised awareness for stroke, which is the leading cause of disability in the U.S. According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, a 2013 survey shows that 3.2 million or 46 percent of Georgia adults would not be able to recognize and properly respond to a stroke event by calling for emergency services. The key is to recognize the symptoms early because every second counts and can be the difference between fast recovery or debilitating condition. Money raised at the gala is being used to build awareness on early signs of stroke. We were honored and blessed to be apart of such a worthy project. Here is a highlight of the evening. http://video214.com/play/IGK0ez2AFMbMu5eruYCPUA/s/dark
