The 2014 WellStar Foundation Grand Gala was held on Saturday, April 26 at the Cobb Galleria. This year’s 1920s-themed gala raised awareness for stroke, which is the leading cause of disability in the U.S.  According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, a 2013 survey shows that 3.2 million or 46 percent of Georgia adults would not be able to recognize and properly respond to a stroke event by calling for emergency services. The key is to recognize the symptoms early because every second counts and can be the difference between fast recovery or debilitating condition.
